The story of Perlas Orquidea
started in 1952 when a small pearls workshop was aquired . At the time,
manufacturing pearls remained a real craft industry
to which many changes were gradually introduced. The industrial automation was
inserted step by step and, as it seemed to be impossible to find specific
machinery
to manufacture
pearls, the company created its own Research and Development
department.
The
shopping center records annually visits of hundreds
of thousands people coming
from all over the world to spend their holidays in Mallorca. Perlas Orquidea,
S.A currently exports to more than 40 countries (most countries of the
E.U, East Europe, South and Central America, Japan, ...) and received
in 1977-78 the Gold export medal, in 1984-86
and 87 the export leader trophy and also the American award in 1986.
